“We decided a few weeks ago to use the Android as a remote controller instead of building a remote control from scratch. We had started developing our android controller with Google Labs App Inventor but one of the guys over at LMR did the same thing and put it on Android Market for $2. So we decided to use Chris the Carpenter’s RocketBot Controller.”

“OpenSCB is still a project under heavy development. Its goal is to create a fully open source servo controller. That means that we have designed a board with all the hardware to interface with classic RC servos, AX-12/AX-18 servos, openservo and more… It’s using a powerfull 32-bits microcontroller and it has a USB port for programming and control with a PC.”

“I originally wrote this for an Altera development board which was actually a TQFP breakout board with the chip soldered onto it. This was fragile and poorly soldered so it fell apart after a while. I have now changed all the ROMs to be generic VHDL instead of LPM macros so it works with the Xilinx tools.”
