It’s not even close to an analog computer, yet it reminds me so much of them. This computer is built purely from TTL counters. The instructions are stored in two EEPROMs and the old school style is definitely worth a look. The write-up gives you a great idea of why we love microcontrollers so much.

Today’s project is another method for PCB fabrication: printing directly onto the pcb. The project write-up details how he did it and gives links to how others have as well. Some pretty good quality came out of this method, so it’s likely catch your interest as it has mine.

Similar to the ARM Index I showed you a few days ago, this is a vast AVR project index. No matter if you’re a beginner or a pro, you’ll get ideas and sample source code from this resource. All AVR guru’s should have this website bookmarked. Don’t miss it!

Dubb’d the ‘Ypod’. The YAMPP mp3 player is the pinnacle of many DIY mp3 player projects combined. It uses all off-the-shelf components, you just need a fab’d PCB board. The entire project is open-source, hardware and software so go take a look!

If you’ve ever been interested in the Arduino microcontroller here’s your chance to get a sweet little dev board for free. Uchobby has a giveaway program that is still in action. The board itself is probably not worth more than $20 but it is still worth at least a quick look.

The Binary Clock is one of the signs of a geek, but they’re fun to try and figure out. This project write-up shows you how to use a PIC microcontroller to make your very own Binary Clock.

This is a very simple guide for the Arudino microcontroller. You will learn how/where to get an Arudino & how to get it up and running on a simple breadboard. If you’re looking to get started using this uC take a look!

This project is a very nicely designed weather satellite image receiver. The project write-up has the hardware schematic along with many nice photographs of the hardware in action. Take a good look at how much you can do with a simple microcontroller.

There have been other at home PCB projects posted here, but this one really tells it like it is, easy! All on one page with necessary parts listed out (just like my write-ups) and then the simple procedure for making a PCB step-by-step, done in an hour!

Dance Floor of the Future, Now! Although you’d probably rather have a machine do this kind of repetitive work, the outcome is pretty damn cool; 128 square feet of disco dance floor. This project has a very professional website devoted to showing you how to make one.
