This project shows you how to build your very own laser light box. The build is unexpectedly easy, requiring cheap off the shelf parts and some tinkering. The write-up has page by page instructions showing you how to build it.

If you’re an avid bike rider and you have an extra nokia lcd laying around, this project is for you. Speedo uses a nokia lcd to display your current bicycle RPM’s and distance traveled. The project write-up includes: schematics, software and action shots.

Using a hacked 14 electrode ‘mind reading’ device, this project controls an RC car using only your brain waves. The project write-up has more pics, action videos and details out how to build your own.

This LED globe can be programmed to display a happy new year sign, a map of the earth or anything you want pretty much. The project write-up is all in russian but the pictures, videos and source code give you the real idea of what is going on.

Larmie takes away the need to keep resetting your alarm if you have busy daily schedules. Instead, an arduino resets the alarm for you after checking out your schedule on google calender. The project write-up has pics, a great description and the source code.

If you’re interested in using a camera module in any of your projects, this project shows you how to connect an AVR to a camera and get it working. The sample code is posted and the schematic is basic. Luckily most camera modules operate the same so you’ll be able to adapt the code if necessary.

This robot looks like a case of someone with too much money and too much time, so the results are just ridiculous. A fire-breathing robot that can mosey its way around town at 0.6mph.

Random lego-bots seem to be all over the net these days, but this one I couldn’t get enough of. It’s basically a 3d printer made out of legos. The website has the build instructions (from legos), the software it uses and some cool vids of it in action.

This project uses a robotic arm made of servos, builds a platform stage and stepper motor to move it and draws whatever you input to it. A laptop reads from a picture file and sends commands to the arm telling it what to draw and where.

Oberon is built from the leftovers of a wheel chair so it has some powerful motors and sensors. It uses this power to be able to explore long range, far away from the remote controller. This can be quite cool for the lone DIYer without a big budget. The project write-up is 33 pages of detailed info.
