3d Printed Delta

Posted April 27, 2017 by Chris

"Now having figured out how to make 3D models of the parts I need, I’m printing my robots like a more civilized maker. I’ve also departed from relying on hobby parts for the joints due to my friend Mark’s ingenious idea to implement ball bearings into the design. This allows the robot to be free of heinous amounts of nuts and screws as well as any additional bought items."

How To Make A PCB At Home

Posted March 11, 2016 by Chris

"We all are very familiar with Printed Circuit Boards or PCBs as they are easily found in television sets, computers and in every electronic device. PCB is widely accepted and most commonly used in Electronics industry. PCB is very cost effective, it assembles the complex circuits in small space and eliminates the risk of loose connections, it has pre designed copper tracks to connect the components in effective and clean way."

Intrinsic Optical Signal Imaging Chamber IOSIC

Posted March 5, 2016 by Chris

"Intrinsic optical signal (IOS) imaging is a functional imaging technique that has revolutionized our understanding of cortical functional organization and plasticity since it was first implemented, around 30 years ago. Even if IOS imaging lacks the ability to directly measure electrical neuronal function and track data at a fine temporal scale, it has some advantages on electrophysiological techniques, such as the capability to visualize functional architectures via the simultaneous sampling of a large cortical region with high spatial resolution."

Howto Measure RTD Over Long Distances

Posted January 13, 2016 by Chris

"The RTDs are the most expensive, but they also provide best accuracy and best resolution for the measurement. This, however, only if appropriate analogue circuitry will be used. The appropriate analogue circuitry constitutes the subject of this article."

Digitally Recordable User Modifiable Sound Emitting Tool

Posted November 19, 2015 by Chris

"A modular electronic drum kit that allows recorded samples to be used as drum sounds. We decided to build a modular electronic drum kit because we thought it would be an interesting project to be able to record ourselves and use our own voices or sounds as drum noises."

Tutorial: Thermal Printer Hardware Setup

Posted October 18, 2015 by Chris

" It would be great if I could print out the time and ranking directly, so if there is no PC, the system can be small and tiny. So here is my next project and tutorial: Printing with the Freedom board!"

Digital Stethoscope With Display

Posted October 11, 2015 by Chris

"At the highest level, the design of our project centers around an acquisition circuit, data processing in two MCUs, and the output on a TV screen. The first part of the stethoscope is the acquisition unit, which consists of an actual stethoscope mated with a microphone, and an amplifier circuit. The microphone captures the audible signal from the body that is acoustically amplified by the stethoscope."

Programmable 8-character LCD module + DMM

Posted October 5, 2015 by Chris

"This new LCD module is basically an advanced version with a lot more capabilities. You can power it with the same voltage source that your signal is derived from. You can load your own code into this module but it has even some nice features for people who just need a voltmeter module and don’t want to play with C-code. "

FPGA Controlled Reflow Oven

Posted September 25, 2015 by Chris

"This FPGA Project was completed on Christmas Day 2013. I wanted to assemble surface mount components, and to do this I need a reflow oven. Everybody on the internet seems to build their own, so I set about building one using a FPGA. Everything has been implemented inside the FPGA, without there being any software in the control loop."

Mini Servo Grippers + Robotic Arm

Posted September 20, 2015 by Chris

"A little time ago I made a robotic arm, without the gripper. So last week I draw a gripper that is compatible with a mini servo, I made two versions because I had to chose between two kinds of gears, straight and rounded."
