Dead reckoning is a strange term for predicting how you should steer based off of previous data, in this case, gps waypoints. The project write-up is very detailed from theory to application and the parts used are cheap and easy to get. Take a look!

This robot is perhaps the most off-the shelf I’ve ever seen. It even has a wifi-router on top that is uses to receive commands. A lot of love was put into this one and the project write-up reflects that quite well. Take a look at this one, software/hardware info is all there.

This project is the effort of a single DIYer who wanted to make his own transmitter/receiver pair to open a gate. This made it a lot easier for him to pull into his driveway. The project itself uses a lot of off-the-shelf components so it’d be easy to duplicate. The write-up is very straight forward and cuts to the chase.

This is a simple temperature sensor hooked up to some wireless transmitting equipment so that temperature can be monitored remotely. It uses atmel power for all the processing and standard rf radio modules. Software & Hardware schematics are available for download!

In what is probably a fairly obvious and easy thing to do with Xbee, we have the arduino wireless programmer. This is a pretty cool idea because it clears up the mess of wires around your project and is very simple integrated into your project.

Using some tools bought off ebay, you can create your very own wireless, web controlled security system! The write-up is hosted courtesy of instructables and it gives a page by page description of what the project is & how to build it.

This is probably the most ridiculous wifi antenna i’ve seen, but it works and increases reception 5-15%. No theory is offered, just the results. But at the (build) price of 10 cents it’s a bargain.

This is a very helpful little guide for mod’ing an old printer so that you can print to it via WiFi. It’s very straight forward with a lot of pictures and helpful tips. The example printer used is an old laser-jet printer.

This is a cool little project to transform a standard NES console controller into a TV remote. The TV remote has the most basic of functions: power, volume & channel control. The project write-up is full of pictures and is written quite well, so check it out.

Today’s project write-up is an IR Transmitter/Receiver pair using a PIC microcontroller. The circuit for both the transmitter and receivers is fairly complicated however not impossible to build. All the information you’ll need to make them can be found in the write-up.
