Today we are learning about infrared encoder sensors in our new PyroEDU course: An Introduction To Sensors. In this lesson we’ll look at everything there is to know about Infrared Encoders and perform a fun experiment to give you a hands-on feel for how they work. Here’s a quick intro of what this PyroEDU lesson is all about:

Detecting changes in color and reflectivity can be achieved using an infrared emitter and phototransistor. In this lesson we’ll do just that by making a rotary encoder for tracking a motor’s movement.
