Assigning Pins
We want to assign the two input pins to two of the switches on the DE2 board. If we look at the DE2 board schematic we have 18 switches to choose from and even more LEDS for output. For ease lets use switches 0 & 1 and led 0. These are located on the FPGA at pins N26, N25 & AE22 respectively.
Open the Assignment Editor, Assignments -> Assignement Editor »
The assignment editor will let us assign pins from our project to the FPGA »
For the category option choose Pin »
Double click 'new' in the to column and choose 'x1' »
For the location, find the PIN_N25 option »
Choose locations for the other pins, it should look like this »
Save your project and the newly designed pin assignments. Now it's time to actually load this schematic program onto the DE2, finally!
