Testing The FPGA/CPLD ADC Interface
The video below will demonstrate how the two different VHDL modules work with the MAX150 ADC and LED Output pair. The first one is a straight 8 bit ADC -> LED output and the second is a more 'progressive' or cumulative output on the LEDs that humans can understand better.
So I'm willing to bet most people prefer looking at the second method for seeing an analog voltage output on an LED bar. Regardless of which way you like, it's important to know how to build both types of modules and to know how much processing power is behind them, along with how to make the actual interfaces work properly as we have done.
