To prove that the wireless transmission of simple ASCII text works with the design for this tutorial, I put together the following video. It shows how when button is pressed one of the LEDs lights up and when the other button is pressed, the other LED lights up. A simple idea, but a powerful one when you start making things more complex.
As you can see, the video demonstrates that the system works reliably and that the wireless link does exactly what it should. The demonstration only shows wireless transmission working at a short distance, but the system is capable of working reliably while 50-100 meters apart, especially if more power is applied to the transmitter.
