           The CPLD has been wired up with the proper hardware and the VHDL compiled and downloaded, so let's turn it on and see how things work. Again, the first portion of the code is meant to display all the 512 possible colors that the 9 resistor VGA DAC offers and the second a simple bouncing ball that cycles through all the colors over and over.


           There you have it, a cheap and flexible VGA controller that anyone can build for less than $25! I hope the action video above has you convinced that using a CPLD with a VGA resistor DAC is easy and obtains useable results.
