DIY Breakout Board PCB

An Overview Of The DIY Breakout Board PCB
Breakbout board PCBs are a very valuable tool to have when dealing with small form factor parts. They offer easy access to each individual pin that otherwise is impossible to get because of tiny pin sizes. This tutorial ran through how I made a breakout board for an ethernet port that otherwise would not have fit onto a breadboard. It's important to note that while breakout boards are a great tool, they will not work so well when dealing with higher frequency, more complex devices.

What To Do Now
If you haven't made a breakout board for some TSSOP or tiny part, do it! I recommend starting out with something you can solder by hand like an SOP part and then moving to more difficult parts like QFN or TSSOP packages. I guess it really depends on what parts you need breakout boards for, unfortunately it is usually the really tiny parts, but after you give it a few shots, making your own breakout boards gets really easy.

Conclusion
Although this tutorial was rather short, it sticks to the point with the added bonus of getting a quick walk-through of making your own part in Eagle. The breakout board created works as I wanted it to and fits nicely into any standard breadboard. From that point, I consider this a successful tutorial and hope that you all will give making your own breakout boards a shot, it's really easy!
