The "Control" Theory
The commands that the host computer will send to the new transmitter will be through the keyboard (I put quotes on "Control" for all you EE Control guys who are probably laughing at the lack of true control). Similar to older first person shooters, it will use the ASDW key combo with Z and C added for other reverse directions. This simplifies turning for the car, as opposed to pressing two keys at once which would be a bit (only a bit!) more difficult to parse. Here is the setup:

Here is a quick look at the transmitter mod before we get all into the hardware. The four green wires represent the 4 spots that the PIC hooks up to the transmitter. The Red and Black wires are for power and ground to the transmitter. Instead of going to a 9v battery, power and ground will be attached to the new circuit we'll create seen on the previous page.
