Since there is no program to be loaded, once the power supply is connected, the 555 timer will start sending pulses to the stepper motor controller board and the stepper motor will start turning away.
A 5k trimpot was added to the 555 timer circuit so that the frequency of pulses to the stepper motor controller board could be controlled which results in the stepper motor moving faster or slower as seen in the video above.
