L298 DC Motor Control: Conclusion

An Overview Of L298 DC Motor Control
The L298HN seems to have many advantages over the LMD18245 which was used in the previous dc motor control tutorial. For starters it only requires about 50% of the wires the 18245's did and it accepts PWM input which means the L298's only uses 1 pin for input while the 18245's had 4 (M4->M1) input pins. Overall, the L298's seem like a very formidable motor controller, that's probably why they're so popular.

What To Do Now
Now that you know how to control one motor with the L298, try controlling two motors with the same L298. The code will only need to be slightly modified and only a few more wires added. Once you can control two motors independently you're well on your way to creating a mobile robot!

Conclusion
This tutorial covered and did exactly what it should have. A working program for the L298's was created and a working circuit for the L298's was built with a schematic drawn up for anyone to see. The difficult of this project is mostly only in getting the pic programmed and ready to go. This tutorial was successful!
