Animatronic Neck

An Overview Of The Animatronic Neck
The animatronic neck was just a simple and standard pan and tilt system seen on any camera tripod. So, really things didn't get too complex, but did take some thinking and mechanical work (hurray for e-poxy glue). The software didn't need to get changed which was a plus and very few electrical hardware changes were made. All-in-all, the addition of a neck to our animatron was rather simple.

What To Do Now
While this is supposedly the culminating tutorial for creating your own animatronic head, there are still many places left for you to discover. For example, the rest of the animatronic body! What good is a head without legs, arms or a torso? Similarly, there's a lot of room for improvement in how this design works. Since I went the DIY dirt cheap route, things were not so stable.

Conclusion
After these four exciting weeks it is really awesome to see the final outcome working so well. It's sad that animatronics month is coming to a close but I'm relieved simply because doing these tutorials is a lot of work and they demand a lot of fresh content.
