Altera UP2 Projects - EECE 343 Fall '11

An Overview Of The Altera UP2 Projects
These four projects just scratch the surface of what FPGA's can do when you sit down and get to work designing. However, if you're on the fence about whether you should get an evaluation board like this, I'd say spend the $50-75 for one and start having some fun. These projects should give you an idea of what you can learn and get done in a single semester (3-5 months) worth of time.

What To Do Now
While this article doesn't really come as a tutorial or a project, I'd say to anyone who is remotely interested in digital design with CPLD or FPGA, go out and buy a development board, even if its the tiny and cheap DE0-Nano. You won't regret the fun you can have learning and designing!

Conclusion
No real conclusions can be drawn here, I just hope these projects give you ideas of what is realistic and how cool things can be built on-the-cheap. I would like to thank the professor of this CSU Chico class, Jowel Yusta, for providing me with the opportunity to post these projects, their source code and functional videos for the world to see and consume.
