The Accelerometer:

An Overview Of The Accelerometer
Much has been said about the accelerometer, its function and purpose. It is a nifty little sensor that doesn't cost much for what you can make it do. The experiments in this tutorial were only brief demonstrations of its capability. You can get 3 a-xis accelerometers that do much, much more.

What To Do Now
Now that you know how to take data from an accelerometer you can move on to using it in an application for tracking distance, movements or what-have-you. Whatever your application is there's always room for a tiny little accelerometer to add some (not at all) necessary features that make it look that much cooler (people in east asian can beatbox with their cell-phone because of these things!).

Overall, this tutorial was a success in that the goal was only to take data from the sensor and make some kind of recognizeable output from it. The true potential of this device is not seen but an introduction is given. So I feel comfortable you are ready to continue on and apply this device to your application whatever it may be.
