VHDL Keyboard Input: Schematic

Schematic Overview
           The UP2 board itsself is very complex and so no simple schematic exists. The schematic below gives you a high level overview of what is on the board and where it is at. Take a close look at the CPLD (FLEX10K) & the PS/2 port. These are what we'll be using in this tutorial


           Aside from the simple overview schematic, we'll need to know the hardwired pins to the vga port. The table below show you which pins off the CPLD are hooked up to exactly which pin on the PS/2 port.


           This information was taken directly out of the UP1/UP2 manual which states that the PS/2 port is for the mouse. If you've ever looked closely at a desktop, you'd notice that the keyboard & mouse both have the same output of PS/2 so it can actually be used for either one.
