HELP IS NEED

Postby kk6682 » Fri Sep 24, 2010 9:33 am

hi ,

WE ARE DANIEL AND JACK
we are going to construst a linear position measurement and display system( optical encoder) for our final year project

the technology we mainly use will be the destructive and constructive interference

Would you mind to show us some examples ,technique are useful

Also can you suggest some components that we will need to use

For example the modle of the miscroprocessor
...

we still can't figure out how to use the sensor to find out the position change .......
i mean we don't know how to make use of interference of light

We will be appreciate for your great help!!!!

Hi kk6682,

I'm not sure exactly what your issue is. I would first suggest, that you take a look through this tutorial:

http://www.pyroelectro.com/tutorials/simple_motor_encoder/index.html

This has an example of an optical encoder. The basic theory behind how it senses the color/light difference is:

To get started, buy an IR Detector/Emitter pair and start playing them to get a 'feeling' for how they work.

Actually we have decided to use the method of imaging scanning to construct the system.

We are working on the proposal

Bt it is very hard to find the resources about the literature review

of linear optical encoder.....

CAn you tell us where we can find it?

Hi kk6682,

I can help you, but you'll have to explain exactly what kind of encoder you're trying to use/make.

What do you mean by imaging scanning to construct the system? and exactly what kind of encoder do you want to implement?

We are going to make a linear optical encoder..
imaging scanning method is the method to detect the change of light intensity.....

we are going to make a incremental optical encoder
