External power supply for led cube

Postby reggie83 » Mon Dec 14, 2015 1:05 pm

Hello,
Can I use external 5V power supply to run all multiplexer board and use usb just to power up and program arduino? and how would you connect it?. Because I read that arduino board cannot carry that much power to run all cube.

As I built the 8x8x8 cube, the power comes from the wall outlet +5v. Any standard +5v wall-wart or DC adapter would be sufficient for powering any or all of the circuit.
