Stepper Motor Controllers - Need Help!

Postby Pyro » Fri Nov 13, 2009 11:56 pm

I'm in search of a 3-axis stepper motor controller for as little money as possible. Be it prefab'd, or DIY, I'm open to both options. Microstepping would be nice as well, but is not necessary is the price is right. Smile

As of now, I was looking at HobbyCNC PRO Chopper Driver Board Kit (located HERE).

I would preferably like to make something, just for the learning experience, but would go for a prefab'd unit, as mentioned above. I'm looking for the cheapest, yet still reliable, controller that I can find.

Thanks in advance for the help, lemme know if I missed any information:)

It sounds like you might be needing something more on the lines of a motion controller board. You might want to look into something more professional than DIY.

http://www.servo2go.com/home.php

That place has a few motion controller boards that might be what you're looking for, 3 axis will cost you a bit of money, especially if you want them all to be controlled on the same board.
